Alliances
IFMA's relationships with sister associations enable the association to pool resources and expertise with other organizations and to address shared challenges. In addition to supporting specific industry projects and initiatives, these alliances help create the educational program at IFMA's Chain Operators Exchange (COEX)
National Council of Chain Restaurants - This organization creates a governmental issues session at COEX and provides governmental updates for the IFMA newsletter IFMA World. NCCR keeps IFMA members and their customers apprised of those government issues that impact their businesses the most.
Hospitality Business Alliance - IFMA works with the restaurant and hospitality sectors to tackle the industry's labor shortage via such HBA programs as School to Career. HBA builds a highly skilled, better educated foodservice labor pool by enhancing the image of foodservice careers and providing high-quality foodservice educational and training programs.
International Food Safety Council - IFMA supports this initiative that promotes food safety by educating foodservice operators and their employees with respect to proper food safety and handling procedures. IFMA's support of IFSC underscores the association's commitment to building a safe food supply and a positive image for the industry.
MultiCultural Foodservice & Hospitality Alliance - This alliance unites IFMA with the restaurant, hotel and foodservice communities in an effort to create a culturally diverse environment for employees and customers alike.
Other Alliances - Besides the organizations mentioned above, there are several other groups that work with IFMA to ensure that COEX meets the informational needs of a broad base of manufacturers and operators:
- National Restaurant Association and its Educational Foundation and Purchasing Managers Group
- Women's Foodservice Forum
- American Beverage Institute
- North American Association of Food Equipment Manufacturers
