IN HIS OWN WORDS

How did you get your start in the foodservice industry?
My journey in hospitality began at 14 when I secured a position as a pot washer at a restaurant called The Journeys End. That experience sparked my passion for the foodservice industry and set me on a path to a rewarding career in hospitality.

What do you enjoy most about your career in foodservice?
What I enjoy most is the people. Working alongside talented and passionate individuals, and witnessing their growth in their careers, has been the most fulfilling part of my journey. The energy and creativity of the people in this industry inspire me every day.

Tell us about a proud moment you’ve had along the way.
One of my proudest moments was being the first recipient of the Neubauer Award. Named after former Aramark Chairman and CEO Joe Neubauer, this award honors leaders who exemplify integrity, a passion for service, a focus on profitable growth, and a commitment to the success of others. Being recognized for embodying these values was a defining moment in my career.

What advice do you have for someone new to the foodservice industry?
My advice is to take risks and get involved. Don't hesitate to try new roles and volunteer for projects. It's the best way to build your skills, expand your network, and create career-defining moments.

What has been the biggest challenge you’ve faced in your career and how did you overcome it?
I’m continually inspired by the next generation of culinary and hospitality leaders. Their fresh ideas and high expectations drive me to evolve and improve. New challenges, such as expanding our portfolio with partners like Daniel Boulud and exploring growth in retail and travel, keep me motivated and focused on the future.

What trends do you see shaping the future of foodservice?
Technology is transforming the industry. Artificial Intelligence and robotics are enhancing efficiency, allowing teams to focus more on the customer experience. Innovations like ghost kitchens and food aggregators enable us to serve clients in new ways, including in food deserts and 24/7 operations.

If you could have dinner with any chef, past or present, who would it be and why?
Daniel Boulud. His talent for infusing contemporary elements into soulful French cuisine is remarkable. His influence extends beyond the kitchen through his global restaurant portfolio and catering ventures. Sharing a meal and discussing our mutual passions would be an incredible experience.
