Interview: What Drives the Nation's Top Foodservice Operators?

We asked the 2021 Silver Plate Class to share some perspectives and words of wisdom with the industry. Find out what they have to say about their passion for foodservice, career accomplishments and what it means to be part of a legendary group of operators.

 

How did you get your start in the foodservice industry?

I started as a dishwasher at Penn Monroe Bar and Grill in Pennsylvania. I was 12 years old and made $1.25 an hour.


What do you enjoy most about your career in foodservice?

Wonderful people. Our industry is hospitality, so working with people has been amazing and has made my career very enjoyable and fulfilling.


Tell us about your biggest career accomplishment.

Growing great franchises in general but growing Little Greek has been special.


How have you kept yourself and your team motivated this past year?

We always looked forward and stayed positive while focusing on supporting our franchisees.


What advice do you have for someone new to the foodservice industry?

Start from the bottom and work hard, learn from your experiences.


What does being an IFMA Silver Plate recipient mean to you?

It is an honor to be recognized by my peers and manufactures. It truly is very special and to join such an accomplished group of winners is very dear to me.

What is your favorite meal?
