Megan is a 2023 IFMA Education Foundation scholarship recipient. She attends the University of Illinois and is studying Hospitality Management.
In Megan's own words:
As a child of one parent, this scholarship will help reduce the financial burden of higher education on my Mom and me. Your generous scholarship will support me by helping pay for tuition, books, and other supplies for courses.
Currently, I am pursuing a major in hospitality management. In school, I am in the student run cafe course and designing my capstone restaurant project for another course. In addition to furthering my education, I work as a server for a catering and event company, Pear Tree Estate.
I will also be starting an additional job at the meat and eggs sales room on campus. Over the summer, I plan on interning for Lettuce Entertain You through the Schaumburg location of Wildfire. There, I will work a rotation position.
Upon graduation, I hope to find work as a manager in a restaurant or other food and beverage focus business. One day, I hope to open my own bakery.
